GENERAL FARM WORKER JOB IN AUSTRALIA

Rural Enterprises family-owned mixed enterprise in the Great Southern region of WA overlooking the beautiful Stirling Ranges, is looking for a self-starting general farm worker to join their team. This is a mixed property, and the role will include both cropping (70%) and stock duties (30%), therefore experience in both machine operations for broadacre cropping and sheep husbandry is essential. This is a great opportunity for someone to build on experience and skills with the opportunity for progression.

Responsibilities of General Farm Worker:

• Cropping
  • Machinery experience essential.
  • Operating all broad acre machinery.
  • Experience in the harvesting, handling, and storing of grain, cereals, canola etc.
• Stock work.
  • All sheep husbandry duties (yard work, drenching, vaccination, pasture rotation, water checks);
  • Maintaining water pumps and pipes.
  • Maintaining and constructing yards and fences.
• General
  • Fencing and all other general farm duties as required.
  • Undertake farm and machinery maintenance activities.

Eligibility Requirements for General Farm Worker:

• Genuine passion for agriculture.
• Minimum 2 years’ experience working in both cropping and with sheep.
• Minimum of 2 seasons of experience in driving seeders and harvesters.
• Experience operating SP sprayer is desirable.
• Self-motivated, strong work ethic and organizational skills.
• Strong communication and time management skills.
• Team player with ability to work independently.
• Priorities and uphold a safe work environment.
• Minimum of C class license, HR or MC is highly desirable.
• Mechanical aptitude and understanding, with hands on abilities.
• Have your own set of hand tools.
