Te Whatu Ora are seeking for psychiatry registrar to join their team in Whangarei hospital, New Zealand. Whangarei hospital is the largest population centre providing secondary care service. This is a secondary base hospital providing a wide range of services including emergency department (ED), medical specialists, paediatrics and psychiatry. The ideal candidate is responsible for conducting psychiatric assessments and evaluations of patients. It must have ability to provide quality care within the hospital. For this position, candidate must have doctorate degree in psychiatry. This full-time position offers a competitive salary range is $ 85,000 to $120,000 per year within the psychiatry department.
Responsibilities for psychiatry registrar:
- Candidate is responsible for developing and implementing treatment plans for individual with mental health disorders.
- Providing crisis intervention and support to patients in acute psychiatric settings.
- Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care.
- Ability to monitoring patients progress and adjusting treatment plans.
- Maintaining accurate medical records and documentation.
Qualifications for psychiatry registrar:
- Candidate must be completion of a medical degree from a recognized institution.
- It must be registration as a medical practitioner with the medical council of New Zealand.
- It must have relevant postgraduate qualifications or certificate in psychiatry.
- Clinical experience in psychiatry gained through internships, residencies, or previous work experience.
- Strong interpersonal skills, empathy and the ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary team.
- Understanding of cultural competence and commitment to providing culturally safe and responsive care.
