The ideal candidate have ability to provide quality nutrition education for diabetes management to enhance the health provider community. Taranaki hospital provide a dietetic role requiring knowledge and skills to support people living with diabetes and their families. This full-time role offers a competitive salary range of $50,000 – $80,000 per year. For this position, candidate must hold a New Zealand registered dietitian with a current annual practicing certificate in dietitian prescriber endorsement.
Qualification for Diabetes Nutritionist:
- Candidate must have postgraduate degree in nutrition.
- It must have completion of an accredited dietetic internship.
- Experience in clinical, primary care and community setting.
- Have a full and current driving licence.
Responsibilities for Diabetes Specialist Dietitian:
- Candidate is responsible for conducting assessments and developing individualized nutrition care plans for patients with diabetes.
- Providing nutrition education and counselling to help patients manage blood sugar level, medication regimens and overall health.
- Collaborating with healthcare teams to coordinate comprehensive care for patients.
- Ability to monitoring and evaluating patients progress towards nutrition and health goal.
- Advocating for patients nutritional needs and promoting healthy lifestyle choices.
