Huon
Huon’s Projects and Engineering team are on the hunt for a qualified Fabricator to join the team at our Port Huon workshop.
The role
Reporting to the Workshop Manager, you will:
- Maintain and upgrade a variety of steel and aluminum vessels in Huon’s Fleet from ocean going ships to small Dinghies.
- Undertake vessel construction and modifications, including a variety of projects on land and water.
- This opportunity is a full-time position operating on a 4 days on, 3 days off roster. Above award wages and overtime rates apply.
About you
- You have trade qualifications and experience in relevant discipline and are competent in MIG and
- TIG welding stainless and aluminum.
- You are confident in your ability to fabricate and assemble as per engineers and shop drawings.
- You have excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate in small or large teams on projects.
- Problem solving skills and contribution to design and engineering projects.
- You are enthusiastic and self-motivated with a positive attitude.
- You have a keen eye for detail and a proactive focus on continually looking to improve processes.
