Available Roles and Responsibilities:
- Cleaning:
- Clean administration office areas, staff lunch rooms, and amenities.
- Perform floor maintenance, window servicing, rubbish removal, and general housekeeping duties.
- Maintain a clean and hygienic work environment.
- Crop Work:
- Care for tomato plants through tasks like leafing, pollinating, twisting, and lowering.
- Work in large glasshouses with high humidity and warm temperatures (up to 30°C).
- Stand or walk for 8-hour shifts with breaks, involving repetitive low muscle load movements (hands, wrists, arms, elbows, shoulders, neck).
- Occasionally work at heights depending on tasks.
- Shifts typically rostered Monday to Friday.
- Picking:
- Pick tomatoes in large glasshouses with high humidity and warm temperatures (up to 30°C).
- Stand or walk for 9.5-hour shifts with breaks, involving repetitive low muscle load movements.
- Occasionally work at heights.
- Shifts typically rostered Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday.
- Packing:
- Pack tomatoes in a large indoor facility, which may be cooled to 12°C.
- Stand for 9.5-hour shifts with breaks, involving repetitive low muscle load movements.
- Shifts typically rostered Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday.
Shift Details:
- On-call casual positions with shifts posted via the Deputy platform, starting at 6:30 AM or 7:00 AM, Monday to Friday.
- Shift end times vary based on production needs.
- Busier periods from October to March; less busy during winter, but operations continue year-round.
Requirements:
- Access to reliable transport to and from the work site (no public transport or taxi services available in Guyra).
- Physically fit, able to stand/walk for extended periods and perform repetitive movements.
- Ability to work in warm, humid environments (crop and picking roles) or cooler conditions (packing).
- Basic understanding of written and spoken English.
- Commitment to occupational health and safety, food safety, quality, and personal hygiene.
- Valid work entitlements for Australia.
- Preference for applicants with secure accommodation in the Guyra area due to limited local options.
