Truck Driver

RNE Transport Limited, a trusted and growing logistics provider, is currently seeking experienced and dedicated Truck Drivers to join our team in the Manawatu-Wanganui region. This is a full-time position that requires flexibility to work night shifts and various scheduled runs.

As a Truck Driver with RNE Transport Limited, you will play a critical role in ensuring goods and freight are delivered safely, efficiently, and on time across different routes. Our drivers are not only responsible for the safe operation of company vehicles but also act as the frontline representatives of our company, ensuring high standards of professionalism and customer service at all times.

Key Responsibilities

• Safely operate heavy trucks and transport vehicles across local and regional routes in New Zealand.

• Perform timely pick-up and delivery of goods as per assigned schedules.

• Drive predominantly during night shifts, ensuring compliance with shift rosters and schedules.

• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles to ensure roadworthiness.

• Load, secure, and unload freight in accordance with safety regulations and company policies.

• Maintain accurate delivery records, logbooks, and trip sheets.

• Communicate effectively with dispatchers, operations staff, and customers to report progress or any issues during delivery runs.

• Adhere strictly to NZTA transport laws, company policies, and Health & Safety regulations.

• Handle goods with care to prevent loss or damage during transportation.

• Report mechanical issues or required maintenance to fleet managers promptly.

Qualifications and Skills

• Valid New Zealand Class 4 or Class 5 driver’s licence (required).

• Proven experience as a truck driver, preferably in freight or logistics.

• Clean driving record with strong knowledge of NZ road safety regulations.

• Ability to work flexible hours, including night shifts and shift work.

• Good level of physical fitness to manage loading/unloading tasks when required.

• Strong time management and organizational skills.

• Reliable, responsible, and safety-focused mindset.

• Basic record-keeping and communication skills for delivery logs and reporting.

• Professional attitude with the ability to represent the company positively to customers.
