Glasshouse Worker

T&G Global, one of New Zealand’s leading fresh produce companies, is currently seeking Glasshouse Workers to join our dedicated team in Buckland, Waikato. As a Glasshouse Worker, you will be directly involved in the daily operations of plant care, crop maintenance, and harvesting. Your work will contribute to the consistent supply of high-quality produce, helping T&G Global maintain its reputation for excellence in the horticulture industry. The role is suited to individuals who enjoy hands-on work, are physically fit, and are comfortable working in a glasshouse environment where temperatures and humidity levels can vary.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform daily tasks in the glasshouse including planting, pruning, training, and maintaining crops.

• Assist with pollination, irrigation, and pest monitoring under the guidance of supervisors.

• Harvest crops at the correct stage of ripeness and quality standards.

• Grade, sort, and pack produce efficiently to meet company and market requirements.

• Ensure all work is completed in compliance with health, safety, and food hygiene standards.

• Operate tools and equipment safely and responsibly within the glasshouse.

• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work area.

• Work effectively as part of a team to meet production goals and deadlines.

• Report crop issues, pest or disease concerns, and equipment faults to supervisors promptly.

• Support seasonal peak periods with flexibility for additional hours as required.

Qualifications and Skills

• No formal qualifications required; on-the-job training will be provided.

• Previous experience in horticulture, farming, or greenhouse work is an advantage but not essential.

• Good physical fitness and stamina, with the ability to stand for long periods and carry out repetitive tasks.

• Willingness to work in warm, humid glasshouse conditions.

• Strong teamwork and communication skills.

• Reliability, punctuality, and attention to detail.

• Ability to follow instructions and work independently when required.

• A positive attitude and commitment to producing high-quality results.

Work Conditions

• Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday with shift work.

• Environment: Glasshouse setting with variable temperatures and physical demands.
