Plant Operator

Symal Infrastructure is currently seeking skilled and reliable Plant Operators to join our team on the Gold Coast, QLD. This role is well-suited for individuals with proven experience in operating heavy machinery and plant equipment in the civil construction industry. As a Plant Operator, you will play a key role in supporting infrastructure projects by safely and efficiently handling equipment such as graders, excavators, and other machinery required for earthworks and construction.

This is a casual position that offers flexibility and the opportunity to work on diverse and challenging projects within a reputable civil infrastructure company.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate heavy plant and machinery including graders, excavators, loaders, and rollers as required.

• Carry out daily pre-start checks and routine maintenance on machinery to ensure operational safety.

• Perform earthmoving, excavation, grading, and compaction tasks in line with project requirements.

• Use GPS and other guidance systems for precision operations.

• Work closely with supervisors, engineers, and other team members to achieve project goals.

• Follow site safety procedures, company policies, and environmental standards.

• Identify and report any faults or hazards promptly.

• Assist with general labouring duties when necessary to support the project team.

Skills and Qualifications

• White Card (Construction Induction Card) – mandatory.

• Driver Licence – mandatory.

• Proven experience in grader and excavator operation, with GPS experience highly desirable.

• Ability to operate a range of plant equipment safely and effectively.

• Strong understanding of safety practices and compliance in construction environments.

• Physical fitness to handle the demands of the role.

• Good communication and teamwork skills.

• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
