Construction Labourer Required in Pioneer Construction, Canada

Pioneer Construction is looking for hard-working, self-motivated employees with a proven record of safety and reliability to fill the position of Construction Labourer in the Dubreuilville, Ontario area. The Construction Labourer will require a high level of motivation, professionalism, and independence. This is a full-time seasonal position available with competitive wages and a benefits package.

JOB DUTIES:

  • Load, unload and transport construction materials.
  • Erect and dismantle concrete forms, scaffolding, ramps, catwalks shoring and barricades.
  • Mix, pour and spread materials.
  • Pave and rake asphalt.
  • Assist equipment operators, and other skilled labour when necessary.
  • Prepare construction sites by cleaning obstacles and hazards.
  • Operate and care for construction equipment and machines.
  • Load or unload construction materials.
  • Assist pipe layers.
  • Perform site clean-up.
  • Work schedule consists of 7 days on and 7 days off. Day shifts and night shifts as required.
  • Work in various weather conditions.
  • Display professionalism toward our company and customers.
  • Must maintain a clean and tidy work environment and equipment.
  • Work in accordance with all internal, client and regulated health and safety policies, procedures and/or regulations, including wearing appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Perform related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma is considered an asset.
  • Valid G Class Driver’s License.
  • Experience in the construction industry is considered an asset.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to use tools and equipment required to perform the work (e.g. hand and power tools, etc.)
  • Ability to do physical labour and other strenuous physical tasks
  • Willing to work outdoors in all weather conditions
  • Willing to travel to job sites with overnight stays when required
  • Verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers.
  • Successfully passed comprehensive pre-employment third party testing requirements (drug and alcohol testing and a Criminal Background Check (CPIC) and any other requirements they impose on contractors).
  • Ability to adapt to last-minute changes as dictated by the needs of our customers.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service.
  • Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices.
