Responsibilities
- Transport and deliver goods in accordance with the schedule as determined by the Dispatcher
- Unload or load using proper safety precautions
- Comply with all DOT and NEU requirements (Recordkeeping, Pre- and Post-Inspections, HOS, etc.)
- Ensure highest degree of care and safety while operating any company vehicle
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
- Communicate to Supervisor/Manager any areas of concern
- Operation of any single vehicle with a GVWR of 26,001 lbs. or more or any such vehicle towing a vehicle not in excess of 10,000 lbs. (EVWR)
Qualifications
- Under FMCSR, all Drivers must be at least 21 years of age to participate in the transportation of interstate commerce (391.11(b)(1))
- Satisfactory MVR
- Satisfactory compliance with DQF documentation
- Driver’s License Class A or B
- High School Diploma, equivalency certificate or significant relevant or appropriate working experience
- DOT Medical card or able to pass a DOT physical to obtain a medical card
Organization Relationships
This position will interact with all levels of employees at the branch, including colleagues, leadership staff, and office personnel.
Must be able to work with customers, vendors, and outside organizations.
Work Environment
- Driving for long periods of time
- Standing, bending, twisting, kneeling, reaching, repetitive use of hands, grasping
- Pulling, pushing, lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Exposure to traffic, excessive noise in a fast-paced warehouse environment
- Use of equipment such as forklift and pallet jacks
