Our Pact Packaging division is pioneering a whole-of-product-life-cycle approach to sustainable packaging. By partnering with global brands and local dairy producers, we integrate supply chain efficiencies and sustainable practices into everything we design and manufacture. As part of a team, you will efficiently operate and maintain extrusion machinery to ensure the production of high-quality products. You will perform your duties in a safe and efficient manner while achieving the required quality standards and production outputs.
Your key responsibilities will be to
- Start up, run and shut down the extruders, with the assistance of others as required.
- Ensure the products and materials are handled in a way that ensures quality is not affected and contamination is minimized.
- Ensure that all cases are labelled and that all labels have the correct shift, date and signature details completed.
- Perform all the required quality checks and record the results.
- The Workstation and surrounding area are kept in a clean and safe condition
- Assist with the training of operating staff to SOP’s as directed by the Extrusion Technician or Senior Operator
- To communicate concerns openly and to be prepared to be involved in problem solving and continuous improvement activities.
- Ensure full compliance with Pact Group’s Workplace Health, Safety, and Environmental (WHSE) policies and all relevant legislation, including the Health and Safety at Work Act and the Environmental Protection Authority Act.
To be successful in this role, you’ll have
- Minimum of NCEA level 1 and completion of year 11 at secondary school
- Previous experience in manufacturing.
- Operating experience in a plastics extrusion and thermoforming environment. (Desirable)
- Mechanical aptitude and the ability to troubleshoot and perform basic repairs.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality products
- Strong communication skills to coordinate with production teams and engineers.

- This is a permanent full-time role. Days of work required: 40 hours per week – 4 days on 4 days off rotating 6am-6pm.
