Kagome has an exciting opportunity for two Farming Area Supervisors to join the team in the Deniliquin NSW area. Reporting to the Deniliquin Farming Area Manager and working primarily in either the Birganbigil (Deniliquin) or Pretty Pine/Morago area, the successful candidates will be responsible for assisting the Farm Manager coordinate, plan and execute daily operations, supervising a team of permanent and casual staff and ensuring a Safety & Quality First culture is driven onsite.
Key focus will be ensuring that company targets in terms of yields and quality are met while adhering to budgets, staff, and environmental responsibilities. This is an operational role. Ultimately, we are looking for someone who has supervisory experience at an operational level within an agribusiness or horticultural environment.

What you will be doing

  • Ensure farming activities are carried out according to the farming plan and timeline.
  • Coordinate and manage weekly staff, equipment and contractor requirements, making sure housekeeping and performance are to a high standard and in compliance with relevant policies, procedure, regulations and legislation.
  • Supervise irrigation staff, systems and infrastructure.
  • Monitor and maintain records of key farming activities, particularly fertilizer and chemical application records.

What we are looking for

  • Experience: Minimum 3 years’ experience working within a row cropping business or production farming background (Broad Acre Cropping preferred) with supervisory experience. A working knowledge of GPS systems, John Deere and Case tractors, row crop equipment and self-propelled sprayers. Sound knowledge of subsurface drip and centre pivot irrigation is desired as is Intermediate level of computer use.
