About the Role

We are seeking an enthusiastic Farm Hand to join our team at Peneplain Farm. This role is ideal for someone early in their dairy career, eager to learn and contribute to a progressive, large-scale dairy operation. You will work an average of 50 hours per week with a roster that includes 4 days off per fortnight, ensuring a healthy work-life balance.

About Us

Aurora Dairies, managed by Warakirri Asset Management, is one of Australia’s largest milk producers, operating 56 dairy farms across Victoria, South Australia, Tasmania, and New Zealand. Our 370-hectare Peneplain Farm in Winnindoo, located 25 minutes from Sale and Traralgon in Victoria’s Gippsland region, milks 1,050 Friesian cows using a 60-bail rotary with auto cup removers and teat spray. The farm is predominantly pasture-based, supplemented by grain, summer crops, and silage, with 75% Spring and 25% Autumn calving.

Key Responsibilities

  • Uphold animal health and safe operating procedures.

  • Perform all aspects of milking operations.

  • Conduct animal husbandry tasks, including care for 300-350 replacement calves.

  • Manage pastures to support farm productivity.

  • Operate and maintain machinery and equipment.

  • Perform repairs and maintenance to ensure operational efficiency.
