About the Role

As a General Farm Worker, you’ll play a key role in supporting daily farming operations, ensuring the successful production of high-quality crops. This full-time position involves a variety of hands-on tasks, from planting and weeding to harvesting and equipment maintenance, all while adhering to safety and quality standards. Working under the guidance of supervisors, you’ll contribute to efficient workflows and help meet production targets in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. This role is ideal for individuals who enjoy physical work and are eager to learn about modern farming practices.

Key Responsibilities

Your day-to-day tasks will include:

  • Crop Care: Assist with planting, weeding, irrigating, and fertilizing crops to support healthy growth and maximize yield.

  • Harvesting: Participate in the careful harvesting of carrots, beetroot, and brassica lines, ensuring quality standards are met.

  • Equipment Operation: Operate and maintain basic farm machinery and tools, with training provided as needed.

  • Field Maintenance: Perform tasks such as chipping weeds, clearing debris, and preparing fields for planting.

  • Quality Assurance: Monitor crop health and report issues related to pests, weeds, or soil conditions to supervisors.

  • Safety Compliance: Adhere to Occupational Health and Safety (OH&S) protocols to maintain a safe working environment.

  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with team members to achieve daily production goals and support efficient operations.

  • General Duties: Assist with other farm tasks as directed, such as cleaning equipment or maintaining farm infrastructure.
