Rural Enterprises family-owned mixed enterprise in the Great Southern region of WA overlooking the beautiful Stirling Ranges, is looking for a self-starting general farm worker to join their team. This is a mixed property, and the role will include both cropping (70%) and stock duties (30%), therefore experience in both machine operations for broadacre cropping and sheep husbandry is essential. This is a great opportunity for someone to build on experience and skills with the opportunity for progression.
Responsibilities of General Farm Worker:
- Cropping
- Machinery experience essential.
- Operating all broad acre machinery.
- Experience in the harvesting, handling, and storing of grain, cereals, canola etc.
- Stock work.
- All sheep husbandry duties (yard work, drenching, vaccination, pasture rotation, water checks);
- Maintaining water pumps and pipes.
- Maintaining and constructing yards and fences.
- General
- Fencing and all other general farm duties as required.
- Undertake farm and machinery maintenance activities.
Eligibility Requirements for General Farm Worker:
- Genuine passion for agriculture.
- Minimum 2 years’ experience working in both cropping and with sheep.
- Minimum of 2 seasons of experience in driving seeders and harvesters.
- Experience operating SP sprayer is desirable.
- Self-motivated, strong work ethic and organizational skills.
- Strong communication and time management skills.
- Team player with ability to work independently.
- Priorities and uphold a safe work environment.
- Minimum of C class license, HR or MC is highly desirable.
- Mechanical aptitude and understanding, with hands on abilities.
- Have your own set of hand tools.
