Candidate are committed to Ngai Tahu farming multiple border lines including social, environmental cultural and economic pillars. This full-time position offers a competitive salary range $50,000 – $100,000 per year. The applicant must hold a diploma in agribusiness and possess previous experience in farming, particularly emphasizing livestock management.
Qualifications for Grazing Manager:
- Candidate must have diploma in agriculture, animal science and agribusiness.
- Previous experience in farming, particularly in live stock management is highly valued.
- Strong communication skills, problem-solving abilities and a good understanding of agricultural practices.
- Experience in high-performance pasture, crop and animal management.
Responsibilities for Grazing Manager:
- Candidate is responsible to manage pasture growth, utilization and rotation to optimize grazing efficiency and maintain pasture health.
- Ensure the maintenance and repair of fences, water systems and other infrastructure necessary for livestock management.
- Monitors and maintains the health and welfare of livestock including disease prevention, treatment and record-keeping.
- Assists with budgeting, financial planning and decision-making related to livestock management operations.
