The farm at Cape Kidnappers is seeking for grounds keeping apprentice to join their team in Hawke’s Bay, New Zealand. The ideal candidate is responsible for identifying and managing pests, weeds and diseases. Our organization occupies a breath-taking peninsula at the southern end of Hawke’s Bay, extending 10 kilometres into the South pacific. Candidate is responsible in applying pesticides and herbicides in accordance with safety guidelines. Applicant must have recently completed a degree in horticulture, turf management and sport turf management. This full time position offers a competitive salary range $20-$22 per hour. Candidate have ability to assist in the setup and breakdown of events and activities.
Qualifications for Grounds keeping Apprentice:
- Candidate must have recently completed a degree in horticulture, turf management and sport turf management.
- It must have basic understanding of turf management practices.
- Knowledge of plant biology, soil science and pest management.
- Familiarity with gardening tools and machinery.
Responsibilities for Grounds keeping Apprentice:
- Candidate is responsible for installing, maintaining and repairing irrigation systems.
- Monitoring and adjusting irrigation schedules to ensure optimal water usage.
- Ability to cleaning and performing basic maintenance on moving equipment and other machinery.
- Reporting any equipment issues to supervisors.
