Job of Anaesthetist, New Zealand

Te Whatu Ora are seeking an anaesthetist specialist to join their team in Nelson hospital, New Zealand. Nelson hospital will provide high-quality care in a secondary care setting. Candidate will provide collaborative nature to the patient and have a ability to work independently or within a team. For this position, ideal candidate should be someone who values collaboration across disciplines and is committed to contributing positively to the team dynamic. For this position, salary range is NZ160,000 per year in New Zealand. Candidate will work 30 hours per week in the hospital. It must have experience in anaesthetic pre-assessment clinics, acute theatre sessions, and anaesthesia after-hours on-call support. Candidate must completed postgraduate fellowship training for this full- time permanent job in paediatric orthopaedic surgery, plastics and surgery department.

Skills and Experience for anaesthetic:

  • Candidate must have experience in anaesthetic pre-assessment clinics, acute theatre sessions, and anaesthesia after-hours on-call support.
  • It must completed postgraduate fellowship training.
  • Ability to work with independently or within a team.
  • It must have excellent communication skills and the ability to adapt to varying patient within a hospital.
  • Providing emergency anaesthetic care in critical situations.
  • Educating patients and their families about anaesthesia and postoperative care.
  • Participating in multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss patient care and outcomes.
