The Lead Maintenance Technician is responsible for organizing the warehouse, taking inventory, maintaining equipment, and carrying out recycling and other sustainability focused best practices. The position completes light maintenance duties as assigned to ensure efficient workspace. The Warehouse Technician will work to learn and understand electrical safety, site safety and basic electrical and testing fundamentals. Other responsibilities include, maintenance and repairs of the company resistive load bank fleet, Camloc cables, and electrical components used during load bank testing and possible on-site work to assist the Commissioning team with local projects. The Warehouse Technician demonstrates BGIS values in communicating with clients and other team members.
Responsibilities
- Perform recycling duties throughout the warehouse following established processes and procedures.
- Keep track of inventory in warehouse.
- Organize warehouse for efficiency, cleaning, and safety compliance.
- Maintain warehouse operations whenever the manager is on PTO.
- Maintain cleanliness of all warehouse areas and equipment.
- Maintain the company owned test equipment calibrations and calibration records.
- Perform Electrical Acceptance testing on Breakers/ electrical equipment sent to the warehouse.
- Learn how to use company reporting software
- Fill outgoing orders with complete accuracy/ receive returned equipment and check back into inventory.
- Perform preventative maintenance on key warehouse equipment.
- Perform maintenance/repairs on the fleet of resistive load banks.
- Complete other light maintenance tasks assigned such as changing return filters, checking fire extinguishers, running errands, and sweeping maintenance areas.
- Operate safely and maintain focus on health, safety, and environment.
- Contribute to the completion of other key initiatives as assigned.
- Assist as available the QA/QC commissioning effort on local jobsites.
Required Education
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Experience operating forklifts and current forklift license.
- Ability to perform light maintenance tasks.
- Focus to complete repetitive tasks and meet quality standards.
- Reasoning ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, diagrams, and memos.
- Knowledge and understanding of OSHA guidelines.
- Familiarity with tools and equipment used within the warehouse.
- Good verbal and written communication skills with ability to write simple correspondence and share information with clients and team members.
- Ability to work independently and contribute positively to teamwork working well with others.
- Time Management skills to prioritize and complete work within specific time frames.
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office computer program.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
- Ability and willingness to travel local only as available, not to interfere with regular warehouse duties.
- Current valid driver’s license and ability to provide personal transportation for meetings and job visits away from the warehouse with reimbursement.
- Work in all weather conditions including heat and cold.
