Library Shelver Job in New Zealand

Auckland Council is currently seeking for library shelver to join their team in Auckland, New Zealand. The ideal candidate will support the smooth operation of the Waiheke community library. Candidate have ability to respond to customers and solve their queries in a friendly and approachable manner. This full-time position offers a competitive salary range is $22 to $26 per hours It must have ability to ensure that all items are shelved neatly and in proper order.

Qualifications for Library Shelver:

  • Candidate must hold a secondary school education.
  • It must have ability to accurately sort and shelves material according to the library’s classification system.
  • Ability to handle physical tasks such as lifting, carrying and shelving books.
  • Efficiently managing time to ensure that shelving and other tasks are completed in a timely manner.

Responsibilities for Library Shelver:

  • Candidate is responsible for organizing books, magazines and other library materials according to the library’s classification system.
  • Ability to assisting in the relocation of materials within the library to make space for new acquisitions.
  • Providing general support to library staff including in photocopying, answering phones and assisting with events or programs.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to communicate with library staff.
