Lower School General Assistant in Taiwan

Taipei American School is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic lower school general assistant to join their team. The ideal candidate will assist in maintaining a safe and clean environment for students, teachers, and staff. The lower school general assistant will report to the Head of Lower School and will be responsible for a variety of tasks to support the smooth operation of the lower school division. Key Responsibilities of Lower School General Assistant:

• Provide basic clerical support for literacy, math, and EAL coordinators as needed.
• Coordinate a system for the acquisition of science supplies KA-5
• Promote school values and rules to help teach acceptable behavior!
• Assist with new TA and substitute TA onboarding as needed.
• Support teaching assistants in roles of student supervision and management, particularly during recess and transition times.
• Assist colleagues during emergency procedures.
• Attend divisional events & grade level meetings as needed.
• Other tasks, projects, or initiatives as assigned by LS administration.

Selection Criteria for Lower School General Assistant:

• College or university graduated, preferably in the fields of teaching, education, counseling, early childhood, family studies, etc.
• Five years or more of successful working experience with young children in a similar position preferred.
• Strong English & Mandarin speaking and reading skills.
• Proven problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent communication skills
• Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
• Experience with behavior management strategies.
• Experience working with children.
