Reporting to the Mechanical Supervisor, the Mechanic will be responsible for the following activities:
Job Requirements
- Properly check and maintain mobile or air-based equipment (surface and underground);
- Safely install devices or equipment;
- Perform basic welding and oxy-fuel cutting as required;
- Ensure the efficient and safe execution of task-related activities;
- Work closely with all team members;
- Secure your workplace;
- Actively participate in prevention activities and training;
- Properly complete daily reports and work orders related to assigned tasks;
- Comply with laws, regulations and work procedures;
- Perform any other related tasks
- DEP in construction machinery mechanics or other equivalent training and relevant experience;
- Minimum 3 to 5 years of experience as a mobile equipment mechanic and Alimak mechanic, an asset;
- Completed Modular Mining Worker Certification (FMTM 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 7) and Common core (Ontario);
- Valid driving license;
- Valid general explosives permit;
- Basic computer knowledge, an asset;
- Interest in working in a remote area and in a multicultural environment;
- Autonomy and resourcefulness;
- Ability to work in a team;
- Ability to communicate in French or English with team members.
