Medical Laboratory Scientist Job In New Zealand

Te Whatu Ora are seeking for medical laboratory scientist to join their team in Whangarei hospital, New Zealand. The ideal candidate have ability to provide quality and health safety standards of pathology service. It is responsible for monitoring compliance with accreditation and legal requirements, and enhancing overall quality and safety of patientcare. This permanent, full-time position with opportunities for professional development and training to enhance the quality and health safety management. Candidate have ability to work 9- 10 hours per day within the hospital.  Salary range for this position is $63,500 per year. For this position, candidate must have licensed medical laboratory scientist experience with current APC is certificated to practice and maintain professional competence.

Responsibilities for Medical Laboratory Scientist:

  • Candidate have ability to provide a quality and safe pathology service that ensure timely, accurate results to laboratory users.
  • Advocate best practice ensuring compliance accreditation and legal authorities.
  • Participate in pathology quality, health and safety process improvements within the pathology service.
  • It is responsible to provide high quality and health safety standards of pathology service.
  • Ability to work independently or within the multidisciplinary team environment.

Qualifications for Medical Laboratory Scientist:

  • Candidate must have registered licensed medical laboratory scientist degree.
  • It must have current APC certificate to practice and maintain professional competence.
  • It must have prior experience in a medical laboratory and quality management system.
  • Ability to build and maintain effective professional relationships.
  • Have excellent interpersonal and verbal and written communication skills.
  • Be an innovative thinker with the ability to solve problems effectively.
