Te Whatu Ora are seeking for mental health assistant to join their team in Marlborough’s Wairau Hospital, New Zealand. For this mental health assistant position in Marlborough, candidate must possess strong communication skills and have experience in the mental health field or health support. Candidate should be able to work flexibly and methodically, demonstrating honesty, reliability, and the ability to use appropriate initiative. For this position, candidates must have year 11 national certificate of educational achievement (NCEA ) level 1 English and Maths. This full-time position offers a competitive salary range $59,024 – $74,442 per year.

Responsibilities for Mental Health Assistant:

• Candidate is responsible to support the multidisciplinary team in delivering comprehensive clinical resources.
• It provide direct support to clients, fostering confidence, trust, and rapport.
• Engage in collaborative practice within the team.
• Ability to work under the supervision and direction of registered health professionals.
• It must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Prioritize the safety and wellbeing of clients, colleagues, and oneself.

Qualifications for Mental Health Assistant:

• Candidate must have high school diploma.
• It must have bachelor’s degree in psychology, social work, and counselling.
• Experience in a mental health setting in a psychiatric hospital.
• Ability to demonstrate an understanding of mental health issues and effective interventions.
