Based at our Hideaway Bay site, near Dover, our Net Cleaners are responsible for operating specialist equipment to target areas of our nets that need cleaning.
ABOUT YOU
You will possess a strong work ethic, an eye for detail, well-developed communication skills and be physically fit. Experience in a similar role or an understanding of fish farming and record keeping is desirable but not essential. This position also requires applicants to be available to work a 7 days on, 7 days off roster. A restricted coxswain’s license and experience operating remote operated equipment is desirable but not essential.
Due to the remote nature of our site and limited public transport, it is a requirement of this role that you hold a valid driver’s license. A copy of your driver’s license must be submitted upon application. It is an inherent requirement of this position that work be performed safely whilst upholding Huon’s Values. The appointed person must be able to build and maintain strong working relationships with key stakeholders. Knowledge of work health and safety regulations is preferred.

The role
As part of the On Water Maintenance crew, you will work closely with our Hobart based Control Room to undertake all routine maintenance on our Feed related equipment. This includes:
- Ensuring cameras are in spread and winches are in good working order.
- Reporting any predator activity or unusual fish behaviour.
- Responding to control room requests.
- Attending to other lease maintenance and monitoring as required.
- Located at Hideaway Bay, this position is fulltime operating on a 7 days on, 7 days off roster.
