About the Job
You may be a good fit as an Operator if you are organized, have situational awareness, and take special care to do a good job. You have the capacity to follow directives and fulfill requests while proactively anticipating actions to meet needs. Your primary goal will be performing a variety of plant operations and quality control duties to assist in the effective and efficient operations of the plant while maintaining a focus on safety.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Operating process equipment including pumps, tanks, homogenizers, mixers, PLCs, and control panels to prepare batches of emulsions and/or other formulated products.
- Using specialized software, prints batch sheets, prepares batches according to set formulations.
- Collecting product samples in accordance with quality control procedures.
- Recording all process data in accordance with the requirements according to specifications and quality assurance/quality control processes.
- Operating equipment such as forklifts, plant loaders, and trucks.
- Adhering to preventative, predictive, and corrective maintenance programs and guidelines for all plant equipment.
- Loading and offloading trucks containing raw materials, ranging from raw wax and other bulk liquids to totes, drums, and pails.
Here’s What You Need
- Experience: 3 years of experience in industrial, chemical, and/or manufacturing experience.
- Education: Minimum of high school graduation or equivalent.
- Post-Secondary education, specializing in manufacturing is an asset but not required.
- License: A valid driver’s license.
- Equipment: Lift truck training an asset. Ability to use heavy equipment such as loaders, trucks, and production machinery
- Physical requirements: Ability to lift and carry moderately heavy objects like raw material bags and hoses. Ability to occasionally kneel, reach, stoop, bend, and stretch.
- Environment: Ability to work in plant environment with frequent exposure to dust, fumes, heat, etc. Work in a moderately noisy workplace.
- Safety: Knowledge of Globally Harmonized System of Classification and Labelling of Chemicals (GHS) knowledge – USA.
