About the Opportunity

We are currently looking for a Registered Nurse (RN), to join our inter-disciplinary team of skilled professionals. Reporting to the Clinical Manager, the incumbent is responsible for providing excellent quality patient care and leadership to members of the health care team within the nursing units of the Health Centre.

The hours of work will be 12-hour shifts, all shifts, including weekends and being on-call as required.

More About You

To qualify for the role, you must have a current Certificate of Competence from the College of Nurses of Ontario. You will also need to have:

  • Previous recent related Emergency/ICU experience;
  • A minimum 2 years of medical/surgical nursing experience;
  • Demonstrated excellent communication skills, both written and verbal; ability to work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team and community resources;
  • Demonstrated expertise in a physical assessment, health teaching, and clinical decision making;
  • Demonstrated knowledge of various computer applications and software related to healthcare programs;
  • Demonstrated satisfactory attendance levels, work performance, disciplinary history and positive work references;
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing would be an asset;
  • A.C.L.S., A.T.L.S. Audit Completion, P.A.L.S., T.N.C.C., E.N.P.C., CTAS Training would be an asset;
  • Certification with the Canadian Nurses Association in Emergency Room Nursing/ Critical Care Nursing would be an asset;
  • Post graduate certification in Emergency Nursing/ Critical Care Nursing would be an asset;
  • Previous experience in emergency department triage would be an asset;
  • Previous experience and current certification in Nursing Advanced Practices and Sanctioned Medical Acts pertinent to Emergency and ICU Nursing would be an asset.
