NIWA . Whangarei is seeking for senior fish farm technician to join their team in Northland, New Zealand. The ideal candidate have practical commercial aquaculture experience in a leadership role. National institute of water and atmospheric research is a dynamic research organization and provider of climate, freshwater and marine science. Candidate is responsible for monitor fish health and manage disease prevention and treatment. This full-time position offers a competitive salary range $55,000 – $65,000 per year. Applicant must have bachelor’s degree in aquaculture and marine biology.

Qualifications for Senior Fish Farm Technician:

• Candidate must have bachelor’s degree in Aquaculture and Marine Biology.
• It must have minimum 3-5 years of experience in aquaculture and fish farming.
• Proven experience in a supervisory or senior technician.
• Strong knowledge of fish biology and health management.
• Excellent communication and strong organizational skills.

Responsibilities for Senior fish Farm Technician:

• Candidate is responsible for monitor fish health and manage disease prevention and treatment.
• Maintain and operate aquaculture systems including tanks, pumps and filtration systems.
• Collect and record data on fish growth, health and water quality.
• Provide training on best practices in fish husbandry and system maintenance.
