We are looking for a Truck Driver to join our Transport team in Gisborne on a 3-month fixed term contract for the summer. The primary responsibility in this role is driving Water Carts watering the highways, you will also be carting materials and transporting a wide range of machinery to and from our various work sites. You will be loading and unloading machinery and materials on sites, while ensuring plant is in safe working condition.

In addition to the above you will:

  • Drive and operate trucks and machinery in a professional and safe manner, always aware of your surroundings and conscious of the safety and wellbeing of others
  • Take part in pre-start meetings – understand the hazards and the plan to control them, always speak up if not sure
  • Ensuring trucks and equipment are maintained and comply with all transport regulations (i.e. COF, Rego)
  • Monitor truck maintenance – keep accurate, timely and well organised records as required

We’re looking for someone with:

  • Current Class 4 or 5 licence
  • WTR endorsements with experience operating a machinery
  • Minimum of 1 years practical Truck driving experience, ideally in roading / civil construction
  • Flexibility to perform various daily tasks and grow with the team
  • Civil construction knowledge will be beneficial

  • Good understanding of site safety and hazard management
  • Excellent communication with co-workers and management
