About THE Role

Holcim Us, a leading supplier of quality, construction building materials in the United States, has immediate openings for a Water Truck Operator to support operations at Rockville Quarry in Rockville, Maryland. The Water Truck Driver is responsible for safely operating tanker transports from a water source to a customer location to deliver water, ensuring that all related paperwork and driver logs are completed in an accurate and timely manner

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

  • Operate water truck productively, efficiently, and safely
  • Service and clean truck as needed, this includes greasing, oiling, and perform minor repairs and maintenance, using a grease gun, oil cans, and various hand tools
  • Report when oil changes, maintenance, or repair work is needed or due
  • Perform pre and post inspections to ensure proper performance
  • Driver will be responsible for hauling and unloading large quantities of raw material (sand and gravel) for production at the processing plant
  • The driver is responsible for the efficient working condition of the equipment and is expected to perform minor servicing and maintenance or refer major problems to the supervisor
  • Will be required to help spot for material dumps using agreed upon hand signals and eye contact
  • Must keep time and material records
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Be a great, reliable team member

What We Are Looking For

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent
  • Required Work Experience: 2 years in a plant or industrial environment.
  • Excellent oral communication skills with close attention to detail
  • Demonstrated skill and ability to manage others at other levels.
  • Demonstrated skill and ability to work with service customers.
  • At least one year of experience doing contract maintenance work in a commercial setting.
  • Two or four-year horticultural or related degrees and two years of industry experience. Additional industry experience or industry certifications can substitute for a non-related degree, a two-year degree, or no degree.
  • Ability to identify and diagnose insect and disease problems and schedule appropriate treatment.
  • Working knowledge of vehicles and equipment used in contract maintenance and snow removal.
  • Ability to work in all weather conditions without limitations.
  • Ability to lift 50lbs

Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Holcim approved Personal Protection Equipment (“PPE”), including but not limited to respirators. Subject to applicable law, employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
