Queenstown community hospice is seeking a Welfare worker/ counsellor to join their team in Aotearoa, New Zealand. The ideal candidate should possess the ability to connect with diverse individuals within the hospital. The candidate should have capability to collaborate closely with families and guiding them through available resources and offering support throughout the care journey. Candidate must have at least 5 years experience in healthcare community.
Qualifications for Welfare Worker/ Counsellor:
- Candidate must hold a bachelor’s degree in social work, counselling and psychology.
- Possess certification as a social work/ counsellor.
- Experience in providing counselling or social work service through internships and previous employment.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills for effectively interacting with clients, colleagues.
- Capable to assessing clients needs, identify challenges and devising effective intervention plans.
Responsibilities for Welfare worker / Counsellor:
- Candidate is responsible for conducting comprehensive assessments of clients needs.
- Providing counselling and therapy to individual families and mental health concerns.
- Capable of coordinating services and resources to meet clients needs and providing follow-up support.
- Collaborating with interdisciplinary team including healthcare providers and to ensure comprehensive care and support for clients.
